Reception GLD

GLD is a performance measure for EYFS pupils. Children are defined as having reached a good level of development at the end of the EYFS if they have achieved at least the expected level in:

  • Early learning goals in the prime areas of leaning (personal, social and emotional development, physical development and communication  and  language)
  • Early learning goals in specific areas of mathematics and literacy

Phonics

In year 1, all pupils take part in the statutory Phonics Screening test. This assesses the phonic understanding of pupils and their ability to decode words. Children who do not reach the appropriate standard are given targeted support in Year 2 and retests at the end of that year.

91% of our Y1 pupils achieved the required level

67% of our Y2 pupils (who needed to retake the screening) achieved the required level

Year 2 End of Key Stage 1 assessments

Year 2 pupils sit the KS1 SATs (Statutory Assessment Test) in reading and maths. Writing is assessed by our teachers.

The tests are designed to assess progress and attainment of pupils to determine whether they are working at the expected standard for their age (ARE).

60% of our pupils achieved ARE in reading, with 17% achieving above ARE

54% of our pupils achieved ARE in writing, with 3% achieving above ARE

62% of our pupils achieved ARE in mathematics, with 17% achieving above ARE

54% of our pupils achieved ARE in reading, writing and mathematics combined, with 3% achieved above ARE combined

Year 6 End of Key Stage 2 assessments

Year 6 pupils sit the KS2 SATs (Statutory Assessment Test) in reading; grammar, punctuation and spelling (GPS) and maths. Writing is assessed by our teachers.

51% of our pupils achieved ARE in reading, writing and maths combined

60% of our pupils achieved ARE in reading, with 16% achieving above ARE

65% of our pupils achieved ARE in writing, with 9% achieving above ARE (this was externally moderation by LCC this year)

67% of our pupils achieved ARE in mathematics, with 18% achieving above ARE

61% of our pupils achieved ARE in GPS, with 23% achieving above ARE
